The app is very reliable and informative. I appreciate the straight forward journalism standards. The dark mode makes reading easier. However, the state wire news has more sports than relevant. I would search Chicago, only to get Chicago sports. It would be nice to have a broader search. The notifications are also silent, even though they are on. All in all, gold standard to journalism.

It's…a fine enough news app I guess. It's usually nice and simple, but it spams your phone non-stop with opinion "news" pieces or just random corporate fluff pieces. It does actual news pretty well, but the thinly-veiled advertising and propaganda it barrages you with the other 80% of the time makes it questionable weather the app is even worth installing.

Love AP News, but the app is frustrating at times. Sometimes I click on a headline in the feed and am just taken to a black screen with a loading swirl. It happens reasonably often - maybe one out of ten or fifteen times I click. The news is great and unbiased as news gets, the app can be frustrating though.
