About this app

About WWOZ:
We're a listener-supported, volunteer-programmed radio station in New Orleans. We focus on the rich musical heritage of South Louisiana, as well as other forms of American roots music. We play Jazz, Blues, R&B, Cajun, Zydeco, Funk, Soul, Gospel, Bluegrass, Latin, World, Celtic, and more. We cover many events live in and around the city and across the United States. Every spring, we broadcast live from the famed New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

About our app:
Our Android app lets you listen to both of our 24-hour-a-day live audio streams (WWOZ 90.7FM and WWOZ-2). You can also access our Livewire Music Calendar to find out who's playing around town, hear interviews on demand, send us a voice recording, make a donation, and set an alarm so that you can start every day by waking up to WWOZ.

Love the station, but the app needs a tickle. I usually listen to the archive (especially the Midnight Cap, thank you Jennifer Brady and the Blues Breakdown Problem Child!). But every time any parameter changes on my screen, such as orientation or if in split screen, the size of the window or if the display turns off...I lose the program. I now access my auditory excitement through Chrome when on the move with the phone, as it is much more stable. Keep the groove under guard. HooRoo.

There's no way to not have it autoplay when you open the app, and it doesn't have the one thing I hoped it would have, a way to check the playlist. I listen to 'OZ via TuneIn Radio and there's no way to find out what a song is other than a post-ID or getting to my web browser. I feel like I'm back in the 70's, and not always in a good way.

Crashes some days a number of times in a shorter period which is quite irritating. Other days works well. Great music selection otherwise. Update: crashes or stops more and more. Update: works quite well finally.
