About this item

  • Collector's Edition - Includes a Digital Soundtrack and Digital Artbook
  • Old School Stealth - Your enemies are lethal and direct confrontation is not an option. Survey the scenario, plan your approach and sneak around your enemies. Be the hunter, not the hunted
  • Choose Your Play-Style - Each situation has different possible approaches. Aragami won't force you to kill your enemies, nor will it penalize you for doing it. Both approaches to violence are valid
  • Shadow Powers - Create areas of darkness for tactical advantage, use Shadow Leap to move between shadows, feed bodies of enemies to the shadows and leave no trace and more
  • Powerful Enemies - Your foes can manipulate light to create moving light sources, cast light barriers, shoot incendiary arrows, and launch barrages of light from their weapons

Product Description

Aragami is a third-person stealth game in which you control the shadows. Play as Aragami, an undead assassin with supernatural abilities. You, a once mighty warrior, have been summoned back from the dead by Yamiko, a noble girl from the sacred citadel of Kyuryu. How you were once defeated or any clear memories to your past are all fragmented. Make your way through the heavily guarded city with Yamiko by your side as you uncover memories from your past life and ultimately decipher your connection with your summoner. Use your Shadow Powers to become the ultimate stealth killer. Cast shadows on any surface and use your Shadow Leap to move around undetected. Dispose of enemy corpses using your Shadow Vanish, create shadow clones to distract your enemies or invoke black holes to swallow your targets in one fell swoop. As you advance you will need to use all your powers and wit to sneak past guards, teleport between shadows, create your own areas of darkness and strategically assassinate those who stand in your way. Aragami has strong influences from stealth classics such the Tenchu Saga, or more modern stealth gems like Mark of the Ninja and Dishonored. The scenarios are open and filled with multiple hidden paths and ways to reach your objectives. Aragami has a punishing difficulty; you are lethal when undetected, but outmatched in numbers. Getting detected can lead to an abrupt defeat, so you must rely on your supernatural abilities and stealth to choose your battles wisely. Collector's Edition includes a Digital Soundtrack and Digital Artbook.

Absolutely was not expecting this great level of quality in an indie game.

Absolutely was not expecting this great level of quality in an indie game.
It is hard to find good Ninja stealth games. I've bought or imported every single Tenchu or Shinobido ever made so when this game was being compared to a 3d Mark of the Ninja I couldn't resist. I was honestly keeping my hopes down and not expecting this much polish. I was blown away. I only hope they make a sequel.Graphics: Artsy cell shading not quite as astounding as Journey or El Shaddai, but certainly well above Wind Waker the graphics are gorgeous and very well done. There is clear anime influence in the characters. The shadow system is pretty stylish as well. The water, the fire, the night sky are all beautiful. Your cape functions as your HUD.Gameplay: Basic sneaky stabby fare. Honestly surpassed all my faves in the genre like Tenchu Z. The levels are massive and sprawling. They are packed with a myriad of branches and options you can use to approach the same goal. The shadow mechanic is very fun once you master it. There is no jump button instead you teleport. You don't hide bodies, you send them through a shadow portal. Light drains your magic, shadows restore it. it's pretty gnarly. It's not perfect, but is very well designed. Little Easter eggs to the creator's favorites like Ocarina of Time are sprinkled throughout which makes the story a bit more fun. Different play styles and items are unlockable for people used to a more modern complete stealth experience like Splinter Cell Blacklist. It's not perfect though. There is no customizable button layout, the save points can be a bit far between, and the characters are hardly people you will get attached to. You will see the twist ending a mile away. Still I can overlook that because the gameplay is so fun.Online: The Coop is great if you can find someone to play with and makes the harsh difficulty easier. Finding buddies is hard. The steam version has a level editor, but not the PS4 version so that sucks. I'm going back and trying to do perfect runs and find more hidden shortcuts.Bottom Line: This absolutely blew me away. I recommend it to any fan of this genre, and I am eagerly awaiting a sequel. Rumor has it the creator is considering Nintendo Switch port which seems an even better fit. If you hate stealth games and like to have an action option you're gonna have a bad time, but if you love stealth you will love this. I recommend you buy it because it was worth it at full price, now it's down to bargain levels. You'll regret it if you miss it.

If you are into games such as the Tenchu series or you like games like Thief and Splinter Cell, you'll probably enjoy this. You'll reapply enjoy it if you are also into anime style graphics, which are well done here. That said it does have some technical issues which is the only reason jvknocked a star off, there are some noticeable frame rate issues as well as some online issues. Fortunately the issues aren't bad overall and its still quite playable, but it does detract a bit, hopefully further patches fix it. Totally a worthwhile budget game though and makes for a good addition to any stealth fan's collection.

A very clunky game, with lots of technical issues. Graphics, camera, and FPS are major issues. It feels like it could have come out on the PS2, which is saying a lot. However, besides some of the design and technical issues, it is fun and is creative, but I kept feeling like the game could have had more. I would still rather go back and play the classic three Tenchu games when I would feel the itch of a kunai knife in my back pocket. Given time, maybe Linceworks will be able to live up to their inspirations.

Beautifully rendered game. The art is fresh, the mechanics fun and interesting. Is this the graphics of lets say.. Skyrim? No, but it was never meant to be that realistic in detail. This is more along the lines of playing through a comic book or ... somehow, the art style reminds me of Zelda's Windwaker, only with far better looking characters. The main character is interesting, the way he was summoned likened to an anime storyline.
Without spoiling too much I will say that gathering scrolls to unlock your abilities is nice, enjoyable and adds an ambience to the game.
His cloak, signifies his power level which is imbued/refilled as you linger in the shadows. Light drains it away very quickly as does using your skills.
Death is immediate if you falter in your stealth tactics. Yes, this is a stealth game. You can not run up to your enemies and wildly hack and slash your way through the levels. This game takes patience and the will to actually learn to use the skills you gain, as they are unlocked.
While there is stress at being found out, messing up on your shadow work, the lighting, art and music to this game, make it a ambient adventure. Somehow, I relax while in this setting.
Storyline, music, art and originality give this game a 9 out of 10 and five stars through Amazon.

very glitchy game. caused my ps4 to freeze up and i had to unplug to restart.
during the game, when you leap to shadows, a few times i ended up going below the ground and it would flip out until i died,
when it is working fine, gameplay is pretty good. reminds me of tenchu, but a little more cartoonish

I have been looking for a good stealth game for a while and this one was just glorious. I love older classics like Metal Gear Solid and Tenchu. While this is its own game, it is a blast to play. It is a little shorter, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

Great game for the price.

Cons : lack of enemy verity, levels can get bland, objectives get tedious, and on SOME instances bad level design peaks it's ugly head.

Overall a great game from a small development team.

Such a great game. I'm a casual gamer. Love the stealth genre. This game kept me busy for 3 months. You'll fly by it if you don't want to outfit your character with all upgrades and achievements. I found that I wanted to try and complete each level without killing anyone. But then killing, without being seen, was so satisfing. Totally worth the buy. However I do wish the developers would've added a jump mechanic.
