It is BIGGER!
This game is huge and very addicting. I loved the first Builders game and I couldn't imagine how they would top that... Well they did it with Dragon Quest Builders 2. The game is crazy with lots of things to do and it is pretty fun when playing with your friends via online multiplayer or local wireless connection. There is a very interesting story, character customization with really cool Dragon Quest items, you can have pets, fly, build your island with friends or alone, etc, etc.The game also looks and plays really good on the Switch!

I loved the first Dragon quest builders so I made sure to purchase this one as well. It is SO much better than the first one. I don't want to spoil the game but I will say the story is great. The is an open world theme. It's not like the Chapters in the first game - it's much different (in a good way). You have a follower that is really helpful. He fights monsters and gather the same type of material you gather. The worlds are MUCH bigger than the first game, and your building area is extremely big compared to the first. The also updated the visual controls and really polished this one out. If you liked the first game at all you will absolutely love this one. There are many new things possible in this game that were not available in the first. It's really well done and I can be picky. The only negative I have to say is some of script can be really cringe at times. One character is always saying things like lit, fam, totes, and hype. And some of the dialogue is written in a lisp - which can be hard to smoothly read and takes away from flow of the story as I'm trying to read the words the way they are spelled with that included lisp. And some others are written in a "hillbilly" sort of way? I'm not really sure how to describe it other than they spell out the words the way a really country back woods person would say and it does get annoying at times. I haven't beat it yet but I feel like I've gotten about halfway maybe. Even with the above complaints I'm still giving it 5 stars because I love the dynamics of the game and how the story plays out and the different things I'm allowed to do this go around.

Warning: This game is highly addictive and contains so much content there's no clear end in sight. I played Dragon Quest Builders 1 and found that entertaining with a really solid and unpredictable story. I ordered this one hoping it would be just as good, but so far, it's better! There's so much possibility with what you can build and create. In this one, you can even farm collecting all kinds of seeds and then create so many different dishes through combinations. You also entice farm animals to come over and live with you as well as other villagers. As you player progresses he also levels up to get stronger and through completing various tasks/puzzles you get medals which can earn you even more tools than just the original hammer. This makes the building interface more friendly than the last one.
As for the story, so far it's been really good! I've played this everyday after I come home from work for a month and I still haven't completed it (granted, I spend much more time on building perfect towns). It's an interesting premise although it seems a bit more predictable than the first one, but I am still genuinely interested as to how it will end. All in all, I can't wait to finish so I can finally get some of my life back.

Love the Dragon Quest series games. I played first Dragon Quest Builders and loved...and 2nd one is even better 😱...there are so much improvement with the game. The villager are a lot more helpful, the weapons and armory doesn't break now, and you are not spend so much time one collecting materials to craft items now, you can actually enjoy the story and really enjoying the building part of the game. You have a companion that can travel with you and help fighting and your level doesn't reset, so it makes fighting more enjoyable. The free build island actually has goal and quest you can complete so you can unlock more recipes for your build. Overall, it is am awesome game looking forward to all the DLC and finishing the game so I can build on my island.

As a huge fan of the first Dragon Quest Builders game, I was dying for this to come out! I've been playing it this last week and love it! Some of the changes are just fantastic, like having more freedom to build your base island. Some of the new mechanics take some getting used to, like the new tools you get and how you use them...but its growing on me the more I play. Either way, this games makes me feel like I have a video game addiction...very hard to put down but so much fun! I love the options for building and this is way better than Minecraft in my opinion. Highly recommend this game if you love building things!

I love this game. It isnt hard but a quick paced, task oriented adventure game. It has a very very slight similarity to Minecraft because of the blocks and building. DQB2 is much much simplier than Minrcraft crafting.
I keep finding myself to do ine more task. Just one more. 25 hours in and on the second level. Im not rushing, just enjoying.
Camera angle isnt perfect but that doesnt take away from my enjoyment.
Will look to pick up DQB1 just to check out thw difference

I personally love the game because it's similar to Minecraft with the building aspect. But has a storyline and additional objective. Overall, it is a fun game to play if you don't mind spending hours just creating your world!

The only reason I bought it on amazon was due to the price being cheaper here than other places that I have looked.

This game is absolutely amazing. I haven't been out of the house for a week because I'm obsessed with this game. Huge improvement from DQB1. There are a lot of items, places to explore, fight options, and recipes to play with. The game's story is outstanding. Even after I finished the story mode, there is still lots to do and to explore. It is absolutely an amazing game for any DQ enthusiasts or anyone who loves adorable adventure games with lots of building!!
